Welcome dear faithful readers of my blog to my new tab "About MLM". This tab is launched not with the intention of influence but to provide a better understanding of what MLM(Multi-Level Marketing) or Network Marketing is all about.
Many have misunderstood or may have gotten a wrong picture or idea that MLM is a get-rich-quick scheme when attending presentations by distributors or even their uplines. I feel you. So the question is...
Q : Should I do it for long term? Can I make money fast?
A : Yes and... YES!
Why is my answer is a yes for both? Well its simple, the option to move fast or slow lies within you. In my case if you have followed closely, you will realise that I am actually taking it slow. Initially was a fast journey up the ladder from distributor to Franchise Owner then to Manager and now Senior Manager. Rank set aside, the most important I believe to most of us is about making that "dough" multiply in the fastest possible time...Don't you agree? Any MLM company will have a system in place to assist you to elevate to the next level. However MLM requires team players, if you are not a team player then this industry is not the one for you. It all takes how much effort you would like to put in and how each team player can help each other along the way. If you find that you are not guided, leave the company immediately. A good book that really describes the Network Marketing industry is "The Business School" by Robert Kiyosaki. So this leads to the next question.
Q : If I would like to join but which one should I choose?
A : There are a few things that you need to look into and I shall break it down for a better
understanding.
- Global branding
Look for a company that has a global branding. A new company is good as you will
be pioneers however you would also have to consider the risk of making it or
breaking it. Global branding may also mean that the company has been around long
enough to achieve that global status. Also make sure that you visit the office so that
you know where to find your stuffs. If you want to play it safe, find one that has an
office in view of the public.
- Products
Look for something practical or should I say something that you can see or hold.
Never take up something that you can't see or touch as it may also mean that you
are putting yourself in a high risk position. Once done, consider products that
evolves with time. We are living in an ever changing world so you can't expect to
be using a 19th century product in the 20th century...Don't you agree?
- System
System here means if for example you wish to have a quick boost through your MLM
journey, will there be a system/vehicle that could bring you there. Bear in mind again
that it all depends on how much effort you wish to put in as well. Most MLM
companies would have systems however it all depends whether it is in material or not.
Again here reflects on team player, your upline will guide you in your journey, same
goes to you when you have your own downline. A system is a tool not an investment plan.
With the above, the only thing that's left is the cost. The cost is something which can't be bargained. Do check with the upline that you are signing up with on the available options(if there is). Signing up usually means that you will be bringing home some products, so be sure to revert back to point 2 in the above question and ensure that you won't have problems moving your products the quickest time possible. The key point here is YOU have to use and believe in the product. Otherwise it would make you no different than a salesman trying to push his luck with the products.
Multi-Level Marketing is the industry about helping people.
